You might have noticed that VinylBeat.com is enamored with King Records! There are a lot of Galleries derived from this label. They are one of the few labels with one foot in Bluegrass and Country Music, with the likes of the Stanley Brothers and Reno & Smiley, and the other foot in R&B and soul, with artists like James Brown, Hank Ballard and Little Willie John, etc. In this gallery we're exploring the King LP promos. These had either WLPs, timing strips on the covers, or both. Most are pretty rare, since King label owner Syd Nathan was notoriously cheap and didn't like to give anything away.
