Sesac is a performing rights organization like Ascap and BMI. Back in the late '50s they issued a string of
promo albums for DJs only. The thinking was that if their artists got more airplay, everyone would make more
money. Most of the albums featured the same music that had already been released commercially on major
labels, but was repackaged for Sesac. The jackets were thick and the covers had black bottoms and often
colorful tops which matched the color of the
record labels.
