Roy was one of those great unsung guitarists from the
'40s and '50s who could play many styles from country to swing. His band "The Whippoorwills" started as a radio station band in the '40s.
In the '50s he moved to L.A. and played with many of the cowboy bands, including Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. He later joined the
"Sons Of The Pioneers." He played on many sessions including the two hits by the Fleetwoods "Come Softly To Me" and "Mr. Blue."
