RCA was the only major label that seemed to take Calypso and Pan music seriously.
It paid off for them with the success of Harry Belafonte during the folk music craze.
However, they were also committed to recording the local music of Trinidad and Jamaica and releasing it in the islands.
Their albums had some of the classiest covers.
