The Spotnicks were a '60s instrumental band from Sweden. They played mostly R&R covers and originals and patterned themselves after the Ventures (U.S.) and the Shadows (UK). What set them apart was their goofy cosmonaut outfits, which made for some amusing album covers. They may have inspired DEVO.
