In the early 1960s, Columbia affixed a "New Star On Columbia" sticker to some of their
promo releases. The stickers were only affixed to promo LPs that were sent to DJs, not on
the regular release to the public. Also the "New Star" stickers were only on an artists'
first release, as a way of saying "here's a new artist who's worth checking out." It was
an interesting marketing technique by Columbia. This isn't a theme that anybody would go
out of their way to collect, but grouped together they're interesting.
